Monster Magnet - God Says No
Heres a band that you may have been waiting to hear from just as I was. MAN! Was I disapointed. These guys have some kind of 70's flashblack thing going on. I kept listening further into the album and all I could think of was bands like Steppenwolf and Grand Master Railroad. If these guys were looking to be on "That 70's show" with one of these songs then I think they hit the right mix. I really have to say this album just didnt reel me in. I cant advise to buy it unless your into that flashback scene.
Mudvayne L.D. 50
Here's another out of the blue kick ass rock band! These guys have a feel all of their own. The bass guitar is awesome and the sound is heavy. I can kind of relate these guys to a Slipknot kind of sound although these guys definately have a style all of their own ! If you like your music heavy with a good clean sound this is worth the money. Pick it up and give it a try. This album has been out for awhile but I just felt I had to give them some credit.
Sunna - One Minute Silence
Here's another band you might not find much on the radio but if your into the Creed, Days of the New, and bands of that type of style then give these guys a try. I heard the song "I'm Not Trading' on Much music and instantly fell in love. I thought this song was awesome. I'm not too sure youll hear much of this album on the air or on t.v but Im sure youll enjoy it. Its money well spent!
Eve 6 - Horrorscope
Here's an album that has been floating around awhile. These guys were still in high school duds when their first self titled album hit the charts with "Inside Out" . Theres some good punk style "Green Day" rock here. I love their latest hit "Here's to the night" with it's great smooth , clean sound. Go on out and give this a try.
Stone Temple Pilots - Shangri-La Dee Da
The Stone Temple Pilots a quartet from San Diego is slowly teaching themselves how to rock without sacrificing the hard sound that made them a great band.Shangri-La Dee Da, their fifth album is good. A hell of allot better than the disappointingly single-platinum No. 4, opens with "Coma" a particularly explosive track. But on "Hollywood Bitch," the band tones down, bringing Weiland's voice to its familiar sound. In the '90s, Weiland suffered from heroin addition causing the band several delays in releasing hits and touring.Shangri-La Dee Da sounds like two completely different bands. If you follow STP and their many up and down albums then you'll want to add this to your collection, otherwise you may want to skip it and spend your money on something else here.
Train - Drops Of Jupiter
Train has a sound allot like Collective Soul, Vertical Horizon, and Matchbox Twenty. Train is a fairly generic rock band that writes sing-along tunes. As a result, some of the songs on this, their second album, will make some sing along all awhile putting others to sleep. Tunes like "Drops of Jupiter" and the hit "Meet Virginia" on their first album put these guys on the map. Not all of Train's songs are lucky enough to be that catchy. Allot of these tunes just seem so weak and have no air of excitement to them that they just sound like songs you may hear in the elevator or doctors office. I'd have to say get the singles here and put the wallet away for that trip to McDonalds. |
